On a Modal - Calculus for S 4 ?
نویسنده
چکیده
We present λ→2, a concise formulation of a proof term calculus for the intuitionistic modal logic S4 that is well-suited for practical applications. We show that, with respect to provability, it is equivalent to other formulations in the literature, sketch a simple type checking algorithm, and prove subject reduction and the existence of canonical forms for well-typed terms. Applications include a new formulation of natural deduction for intuitionistic linear logic, modal logical frameworks, and a logical analysis of staged computation and binding-time analysis for functional languages [6].

On Modal Logics with an Intuitionistic Base
(Abstract) In [6] Prior proposed a modal calculus, M IP C, which is an extension of the intuitionist propositional calculus. This system, which I call S 5 IC, turns out to be the intuitionist analogue of Lewis's S 5 in the sense that 1) S 5 IC plus A ∨ ¬A is equivalent to S 5 , 2) collapsing the modal operators yields Heyting's calculus. The question as to whether S 5 IC is to be considered ana...

1 Abstract We prove the Lyndon Theorem and the Lo s-Tarski Theorem for the modal-calculus, using automata which run on process graphs and are equivalent in expressive power to the-calculus. 2 Introduction In rst-order logic the Lo s-Tarski Theorem and Lyndon Theorem characterize syntactically fragments of rst-order logic having certain semantic properties. More precisely, the Lo s-Tarski Theore...
متن کاملObjects, Types and Modal Logics
In this paper we present a modal logic for describing properties of terms in the object calculus of Abadi and Cardelli [AC96]. The logic is essentially the modal mu-calculus of [Koz83]. The fragment allows us to express the temporal modalities of the logic CTL [BAMP83]. We investigate the connection between the type system Ob1<:μ and the mu-calculus, providing a translation of types into modal ...
متن کاملAlgorithmic correspondence for intuitionistic modal mu-calculus, Part 1
Modal mu-calculus [5] is a logical framework combining simple modalities with fixed point operators, enriching the expressivity of modal logic so as to deal with infinite processes like recursion. It has a simple syntax, an easily given semantics, and is decidable. Many expressive modal and temporal logics such as PDL, CTL and CTL∗ can be seen as fragments of the modal mu-calculus. Sahlqvist-st...
